Review by Heather Whittaker
As the lightness of a tinkling piano fades in, you'd be correct in thinking that this was going to be one of those emotional and heart felt songs that Rick can deliver so lovingly… but you'd be very wrong in thinking that it’ll be a slow, romantic ballad that makes you want to cry into some tissues. It's actually upbeat and aggressive but the minor chords help tell the sad story of betrayal.
The first verse makes you feel sorry for the lad but with his approach to the chorus you can almost see him stand up determinedly to defend his broken heart. The chorus hits you like it should do with Rick pushing his voice a little more which adds emphasis to his anger. Its very surprising that this release did not follow Cry For Help with the same degree of chart success. It was also Rick's final single of the 90s to be released with a 12 inch version.
